FAQ
FAQ
What is the advantage of a keg over a bottle?
A 20 Liter Keykeg keg replaces 27 bottles of wine, which means 16 kg less glass waste per keg, and 50% less storage footprint is required
Does wine in a barrel have a long shelf life?
Yes, the wine has a very long shelf life, because the wine in the Keykeg keg is in an inner bag, and this is airtight, the wine does not come into contact with air until the moment of tapping. This keeps the wine as fresh and tasty as the winemaker produced it, and even an opened keg can be used for months.
Is there any residual product left in an empty keg?
No, thanks to the inner bag technique you can tap the keg down to almost the last drop.
Should I put the kegs in the refrigerator?
Our taps are equipped with a cooling system. So the drink is cooled on the way to the tap, so you do not have to keep the kegs cooled.
Do I also need a carbon dioxide bottle for tapping?
The KeyKeg kegs are equipped with an inner bag in which the drink is placed, so you can tap it with air until the last drop. Our taps are equipped with an air pump that ensures this. So no CO2/carbon dioxide is needed. Of course it is possible to connect the kegs to a tap installation that works with a carbon dioxide bottle. In itself a waste of carbon dioxide, but of course it is possible.
Can I also taste the wines first?
Of course we understand if you have doubts when buying 20 liters of wine. We have samples or tasting locations of several of our wines. Contact us to discuss and we will surely find a solution.
